ALL ABOUT IN360°

The working world is continuously changing along with the rapid evolution of technology and globalization around the world. The outdated fields of work are disappearing, replaced by new jobs corresponding to the demands of today’s society. Students who are equipped with enough knowledge, skills and opportunities appropriate to the dynamic changes of the working world would be able to adapt and compete. Unfortunately, due to the limitation in the physical access and infrastructure, children in rural areas do not have enough access to information nor figure of role models to guide them. As there is little example around them on how their education could help develop their future, they are also more inclined to drop out of school. Without enough knowledge and skills, it would be so much harder for those children to compete or to even keep up with the future development of jobs. This condition could lead to a higher number of unemployment in developing countries and other areas with less access to information.

IN360° is a project proposing a new way of career exploration for children in rural and developing areas that bridges the working world and children utilizing 360° video and digital platforms. 360° video is an immersive video where viewers can control the viewing direction like a panorama. Children are provided with various job storytelling videos in 360° video format, so they can experience real-world approximation of working experiences. They can learn about various jobs, the working processes, working environments, the value of the jobs and the career paths.

IN360° community model involves working people who will collaborate with university students or volunteers to create their career stories in 360° video format. Meanwhile, teachers and parents in children’s neighborhood will act as mentor for children in exploring and building their future career.
